Description

The Office Coordinator provides hands support in setting up the classrooms, providing hospitality, and other activities to ensure smooth operations during weekends for classroom operations and event coverage. This position will report to the Administrator and will work closely with other members of the staff and faculty of the Washington Extension.   Duties/Responsibilities
  • Be a presence during weekend (Thurs, Fri, Sat) classes, missing no more than 3 weekends/semester.
  • Arranging classrooms 1 hour before for weekend classes. This will require lifting 10lb. tables, setting up chairs, laying down power cords, and opening up wall dividers when necessary.
  • Setup technology as required for classroom needs. Hooking up the Lifesize cart and confirming its operational display on the classroom monitors.
  • Stock hospitality snacks and fill up coffee/tea bar before class starts and filled throughout the course of class time. 
  • Ensure that students have ID badges and issue/retrieve visitor badges for students, staff and guests.
  • Manage phone calls for the library.
  • Greet students and guests that enter the library and direct them to requested resources.
  • Assist the Office Manager in picking up meals for events or purchasing supplies for campus during as needed.
  • Assist students with checking books in and out.
  • Provide hospitality for faculty on Saturdays (make copies, assist with IT support in setting up Lifesize, computer set up if needed, basic IT troubleshooting, etc.)
  • Attend DTS-DC staff meeting and fulfill duties as required by the Operations Manager

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills in person and over the phone.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and attitude of hospitality
  • Be willing to take initiative in identifying ways to improve service to students, visitors, guests, faculty and co-workers.
  • Be able to handle multiple tasks at one time and deal with interruptions in workflow with grace.
  • A two-year commitment is requested.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • DTS student or alum preferred.
