We are seeking a Federal Sector Manager/Business Line Lead who is an integral part of the Infrastructure Business Unit (ISBU). This position may be based out of any AtkinsRéalis’ hub or regional office but prefers to be in one of our Maryland/Virginia/DC offices.  This position will report directly to the Infrastructure Solutions Senior Vice President/Business Unit Director.

How will you contribute to the team?

  • Directs and oversees the assignments, activities, and resources of a Sector housed within a client-facing Business Unit (BU).
  • Provides leadership, direction, and guidance to Division Managers, Project Directors, and Project Managers within an assigned Sector to ensure the proper execution of projects.
  • Actively works with ISU Director, Business Development and Strategy (BD&S) Director, BU Financial Director, and BU Chief Operating Officer to develop and implement strategy and to identify opportunities for staffing projects, pursuits, and to encourage cross-selling.
  • Responsible for client relations, quality control, safety, and financial performance for the assigned Sector. Typically, responsible for annual revenues over $80M+.

What will you contribute?

  • Bachelor's degree in field of practice. Post-graduate degree preferred. Management coursework and/or MBA a plus. This level may be achieved by technical professionals or technical managers with 20+ years of experience in the Federal business arena, with at least 10 of these years in a senior operating management position.
  • Excellent technical and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage large scope operations and provide leadership to multiple levels of management. Must have business vision, excellent communication skills, and be able to represent the firm effectively to staff, clients, and the community in general. Promote high performance and consistent accountability at all levels within the Sector.

  • Ability to process paper/electronic documents and utilize computer equipment; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Job also requires ability to plan, prioritize and supervise the work of others, review documents and schedules, evaluate alternatives, and devise appropriate solutions.
  • Deep, established industry relationships across the entire spectrum of Federal work, including both Defense and Civilian agencies is a key requirement
  • Deep understanding of the Federal government procurement process, including contracting regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience in managing complex projects and delivering results within a federal government environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with Federal clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Financial acumen including budget planning, financial analysis, and cost management related to Federal client operations.

Scope of Position:

  • Complexity (variety or uniqueness of tasks; relative difficulty or importance of work performed; size of unit supported, etc.): Manages the staff, operations, and contributes to business development activities of a sector with multiple operating units in multiple locations.
