Position Summary:
SnapIT Solutions is hiring a Project Controls Analyst to support a public utility client in Topeka, KS. This hybrid role plays a critical part in maintaining project reporting and financial controls across substation and transmission projects. You will collaborate with engineering, construction, procurement, and project management teams to ensure timely, accurate reporting and asset tracking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead completion report process by analyzing materials, labor, overhead, and total project costs
- Enter and validate data in systems (PowerPlan, transitioning to Maximo) for review and unitization
- Develop project cost estimates and perform post-construction variance reviews
- Generate monthly CAPEX/OPEX and variance reports for stakeholders
- Assist in schedule development and weekly progress updates
- Support forecasting, budgeting, journal entries, and project initiation tasks
- Prepare ad hoc reports for regulatory bodies, stakeholders, or the Southwest Power Pool
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Accounting knowledge is a plus but not required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong process orientation and ability to work independently
- Familiarity with substation and transmission projects
- Ability to analyze and report financial data clearly and concisely
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general spreadsheet/database tools
- Experience with PowerPlan or Maximo is a plus
- Experience in utility, construction, or infrastructure projects is highly preferred
Other Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Candidates located in or near Topeka, KS are preferred. Applicants based in Wichita, KS will also be considered.
Work Environment:
- 18-month contract with potential for extension or full-time conversion
- Hybrid schedule: On-site Tuesdays - Thursdays, Remote Mondays and Fridays
