Job Summary:

This position is responsible for managing the business operations for Perioperative Services, Endoscopy, and Women’s Services, including: strategy and growth development, creation of pricing strategies and revenue projections. Develop key financial performance indicators, conduct regular fiscal analysis and create and evaluate operating and capital budgets. This position will work with the Perioperative, Endoscopy, and Women’s Services Directors to plan, direct, organize, and improve functions associated with financial management, equipment acquisition and maintenance, contracts, inventory management, staffing and labor utilization, and regulatory business standards of the Imaging program.

Job Description:

Financial Management

  • Develop key performance indicators in coordination with department Directors and VP Perioperative, Endoscopy, and Women’s Services
  • In collaboration with Periop, Endoscopy, and Women’s Services leadership creates, evaluates and manages monthly/annual operating revenue/expense variances
  • Prepares, analyzes, and interprets cost reports and other statistical data as they relate to pre-authorization, denials and write-offs and physician productivity reporting.
  • Manage annual budgets for capital, FTE, operating expenses, and revenue.
  • Identifies and achieves cost reductions and revenue enhancements.
  • Complete and communicate the divisional financial scorecard to the management team monthly.
  • Develops and maintain a working relationships with Directors/VP and any and all management of appropriate finance leadership within SEH and SEP
  • Manages processes and ensures accuracy of intercompany financial transfers between SEP and SEH for contracted physician services

Operations

  • Analyzes clinical, statistical, and financial data to assist departmental and administrative leaders with significant organizational decisions.
  • Creates and prepares routine and ad-hoc statistical, financial, and clinical/operational reports related to quality, infection prevention, patient experience/satisfaction, regulatory /accreditation compliance, and various operational and strategic goals.
  • Responsible for overall operational effectiveness and efficiency of all business operations to ensure quality and an exceptional patient experience
  • Research and support financial systems decisions and support implementation of new software and technology for the department
  • Develops and maintains a working relationship with department leadership as well as any/all Financial Division leadership
  • Collaborates with Epic OpTime Application Coordinators to support Perioperative clinical computer system operational needs.

Planning & Strategy

  • Collaborates in the development of long-range strategic planning and implementation of tactics to achieve defined goals, including creation, management and presentation of any strategic or non-strategic business plan
  • Identify methods and conduct regular fiscal analysis for existing and/or proposed programs or services
  • Demonstrates effective problem-solving skills.

Personnel Management and Development

  • Identify financial training needs for department leadership related to budgeting and finance and develop/provide orientation, education and ongoing training as needed to support the achievement of budget goals
  • Collaborates with leadership for developing, maintaining, and revising departmental business operations policies and procedures related to Denials/Write-offs/Prior Authorization.
  • Trains, develops, coaches, and mentors reporting staff in order to ensure that everyone is working to his or her full potential and is staged for the persistent expansion of duties
  • Evaluates direct reports’ job performance and reviews performance appraisals with personnel, proving valuable feedback that assists both the organization and the individual
  • Initiates or recommends necessary counseling, disciplinary actions, terminations, and commendatory actions for reporting staff

Regulatory Compliance

  • Responsible for keeping self and staff up to date with current regulations for reimbursement and billing for both Hospital and Professional billing
  • Responsible for assuring compliance of regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
