Why do we need you? We are looking for a Staff Engineer with a passion for frontend design to be the recognized expert and leader for our engineering team. You will own our code base, coding guidelines, and be the go to person for our technical decisions. You will be constantly evolving with technology and design updates, and feature improvements as a result of our data informed testing program. Day-to-day, this role will report to the Senior Manager, Marketing Website on the Growth Marketing team, and you will have close functional relationships and career opportunities within our broader engineering organization.

On a typical day, you will be working on:

  • 8+ years experience developing websites and web applications using React with Node.js for developing JAMstack websites and using headless CMS’ such as Contentful.
  • Clear communication and an eagerness to collaborate and exchange knowledge to continue to delight our visitors
  • Minimum of a BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent technical experience.
  • Demonstrable experience designing and documenting data structures, architecture, and process flows for websites.
  • Ability to develop new features, improve system stability, and increase overall performance.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership experience as an architect or tech lead.
  • Deep understanding of modern web applications design architecture, good API design patterns, performance and scale.
  • Experience with libraries such as Chakra UI, MUI, Styled components or similar.
  • Expert in (and a big fan of) executing on Atomic Design Methodology.
  • An agile, solutions oriented, problem solver. You are curious and like getting into the weeds. Your reward is finding a way to deliver on” impossible” ideas.
  • Experience evaluating and implementing web standards for usability and accessibility.
  • Proficient and shown experience using TypeScript in a professional setting.
  • Experience migrating from Gatsby/GraphQL to Next.js is a plus
  • Experience with AB testing using Optimizely is a plus.
  • Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time
