A Day in the Life

Take on a pivotal role as a Senior HR Program Manager/Business Partner and make your mark across our diabetes business teams. As a key driver of HR initiatives, you'll play a crucial part in enhancing employee experiences while accelerating business success. In this dynamic, results-oriented position, you will collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence to lead transformative programs in talent acquisition, cultural evolution, Inclusion, performance and talent management, employee relations, total rewards, and organizational effectiveness.

Reporting to a Senior HR Director, you'll deliver strategic HR partnership and practical support to essential areas like Field Sales in US and Canada, IT, Marketing, and Manufacturing in Northridge, CA. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will empower front-line and mid-level leaders by addressing daily inquiries and preparing them for significant meetings and HR deliverables. You will work on-site at our Northridge, California location three (3) days per week. This on-site presence is crucial to fostering collaboration and maintaining a strong connection with our team and the workplace environment.

This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic's Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. This separation provides our team with a bold opportunity to unleash our potential, enabling us to operate with greater speed and agility. As a separate entity, we anticipate leveraging increased investments to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care. Our HR team will play a pivotal role in the journey to become a standalone company.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Organization, Talent, and Culture Planning: Collaborate with HR Business Partners and HR COEs to provide high-impact HR solutions.  Support critical HR processes, including workforce planning, compensation reviews, performance management partnership with the HR COEs.  Communicate and implement proactive strategies pertaining to employee retention and engagement, succession planning in support of strategic objectives. Work with leaders to foster a positive and inclusive organizational culture
  • Change Management/Organization Effectiveness: Support organizational change initiatives and provide guidance on change management process.
  • Talent and Leadership Development: Partners with Global Talent Development on strategies to develop and enhance business and technical capabilities for the employee population to include knowledge enhancement, career and leadership development.
  • Talent Acquisition: Support Leaders and the Talent Acquisition COE to identify and staff critical roles, build organization capabilities, and bench strength.
  • Employee Relations & Communications: Partner with the Employee Relations COE and leaders to anticipate, identify and facilitate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Inclusion, Diversity, Equity: Champion ID&E efforts to ensure a diverse and inclusive workforce. Partner with HR and leadership to develop and implement ID&E initiatives
  • HR Data Analytics: Detect organizational trends and alert HR partners to enable appropriate actions. Use HR data to measure progress and provide insights for data-driven decision-making. Provide regular updates to stakeholders to communicate program progress and outcomes.
