Onsite/Remote:Onsite Position
This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.
Your Responsibilities
As a Staff Software Engineer on the Digital Shop Tech Hub team, located at World Headquarters in Moline, IL, you will;
- Provide technical leadership to a Scrum Agile Digital Product Team focused on smoothing the transitions between current and future state solutions within Digital Shop (Deere.com and Marketing & Sales Tools).
- Develop existing and new applications by analyzing and identifying areas for modification and improvement. Develop solutions/applications to meet customer requirements.
- Lead by example in investigating and adopting technical developments to improve quality of website/portal/applications software and supporting infrastructure to better meet user’s needs.
- Provide mentoring and coaching to developers in the resolution of complex technical issues as well as promote employee development and professional growth.
- Lead engineering practices alongside Engineering Manager and Architects by assessing technology trends and product performance to define, develop, analyze, and realize the implementation of a roadmap.

What Skills You Need
- 6+ years of experience in developing full-stack design, development, testing, and integration for Web-Based Applications
- 5+ years of experience with common web application frameworks and technologies
- 3+ years of experience with Cloud platforms practicing patterns of infrastructure-as-code and configuration-as-code (ex. CloudFormation, Terraform)
- 2+ years of experience providing technical leadership to others.
What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience updating legacy (monolithic) applications to work more efficiently in the cloud.
- Hands-on experiences in AWS including EC2, Lambda, Route53, RDS, S3, CloudFront, IAM, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, and SNS/SQS.
- Experience developing in one or more of the following; Java, SpringBoot, ReactJS, JavaScript, JSP, SQL
- Experience providing technical leadership and coordination to others across multiple teams to deliver production software solutions.
- Experience establishing and utilizing monitoring, observability, tracing, and other reliability topics.
- Experience working within one or more of the following; Content Management Systems (CMS – ex. OpenText TeamSite), Content Delivery Networks (CDN – ex. Akamai), Search Engines (ex. IBM Watson, OpenSearch), and/or Product Information Management System (PIM – ex. Akeneo)
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelors degree in either Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, MIS, or other IT related discipline experience equivalent.
