Planning – Senior Project Manager 

We have a career opportunity for a Planning Project Manager in our Raleigh office! This position will be under the guidance of the Group Manager and will coordinate with other Project Managers and team members as needed. This position has the opportunity for great career progression, working on challenging projects for a wide range of public sector clients.  This position will consist of evaluating and analyzing transportation and land development projects throughout North Carolina and the southeast.  

Location

This position will report to our Raleigh office a minimum of 3 days a week. Other days can be worked remotely or in the office. 

The Impact You Will Have

  • Participate or lead planning and operational studies for community and transportation project of varying sizes and services in North Carolina, the southeast and across the country.
  • Prepare, review, and oversee quality control/assurance for project deliverables
  • Serve as a liaison with key clients to coordinate Benesch projects and assist in project delivery
  • Mentor, guide, and develop other staff
  • Contribute to business development activities such as developing project teams, leading pursuit strategies, and proposal writing

What We Are Looking For

  • 20+ years in similar industry experience; 10+ years of experience in a similar role (project manager).
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in planning, engineering and/or related field
  • Strong understanding of transportation planning concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of NEPA compliance and public involvement.
  • General project management experience including project staffing, budgeting/cost control, schedule adherence, and quality control
  • Knowledge of NCDOT, USDOT, USACOE and other national and state regulations, policies, and procedures, regulatory compliance or financial considerations, and/or grant/funding experience is preferred
  • Strong technical, communication, and writing skills
  • Ability to identify business needs and opportunities and effectively forge client and teaming relationships
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office
