Overview:

The Corporate Affairs team at HPE drives the company’s public affairs and advocacy initiatives –with the mission to enhance our reputation and advance strategic business goals by engaging and influencing both public and private stakeholders. We are seeking a dynamic and accomplished Corporate Affairs Strategist to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will develop and execute strategies across government relations, public policy, and regulatory affairs, ensuring seamless alignment with HPE’s overall corporate objectives. The ideal candidate excels in fast-paced environments, demonstrates exceptional judgment, and provides hands-on support across multiple disciplines. As a leader, you will play a key part in building and sustaining HPE’s reputation among government, industry, and public sector stakeholders.

Position Objective:

We are seeking an experienced Democratic strategist to support our Administration, Congressional, and Federal Communications Commission (FCC) strategy and engagement. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in networking, spectrum, FCC policies and processes, established relationships across the agency, and a track record of successfully navigating complex regulatory environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Government Relations & Public Policy:
    Forge and nurture strong relationships with government officials, policymakers, and public sector leaders. Represent HPE’s interests in legislative and regulatory matters and provide direct engagement on public policy issues.

  • Legal & Regulatory Affairs:
    Interpret and analyze laws and regulations, assessing their impact on HPE’s business operations. Collaborate with legal teams to ensure compliance and proactively address emerging regulatory risks.

  • Policy Development & Execution:
    Lead the creation and implementation of policies that support market access and business growth, including regulatory affairs and advocacy initiatives.

  • Business Policy Issues:
    Advise on complex policy matters affecting the business, such as tariffs, taxation, workforce strategies, and mergers & acquisitions.

  • Team Leadership & Continuity:
    Ensure continuity and stability during team transitions by sharing expertise, fostering collaboration, and mentoring team members.

  • Strategic Communication:
    Deliver clear, persuasive written and verbal communications, especially in the context of government relations and public policy interpretation.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in commercial or public sector roles, with a demonstrated record of excellence specific to government relations, public policy, regulatory affairs, and advocacy.

  • Advanced degree preferred in Law, Public Policy, Economics, Political Science or relevant field

  • Strong legal background with expertise in interpreting laws and regulations and assessing business impact.

  • Experience navigating complex legal and regulatory environments, and proven history of driving strategic outcomes for a large enterprise through compelling advocacy.

  • Outstanding writing and communications skills, specific to the government, legal, and public policy domains.

  • Demonstrated ability executing on key initiatives by influencing senior stakeholders.

  • Must have experience managing complex and large-scale cross-functional projects
