Position Summary
Manages and directs Litigation Examination Managers and Examiners. Develops and evaluates claim handling examination and litigation procedures. Actively supports and promotes corporate objectives and strategic plans including projects, presentations and regional/branch, division collaborations.

Duties and Responsibilities
Manages overall operations of designated area of authority. Interviews, hires, trains, and directs personnel. Prepares and conducts performance assessments, coordinates discipline, and oversees Employee development as required.
Oversees Home Office claims examination activities. Analyzes and evaluates department operating efficiency, staffing and activities and makes modifications to ensure optimum performance.
Consults with Claims Litigation Examination Managers regarding claims involving excess loss exposure, questions of coverage and settlement amounts.
Monitors all claims-related litigation against ERIE Insurance Group and consults with the Litigation Examination team and field personnel to settle cases.
Monitors relationships with external defense counsel.
Evaluates and coordinates claims training including Commercial Liability as required/needed.
Oversees special projects and research activities and monitors vendor relationships as directed.
Remains current on trends and developments in insurance coverages, claims handling, litigation, and other related fields.
