Job Description

Zscaler is looking for a seasoned and experienced software engineer to contribute to the design and development of Zscaler Digital Experience (ZDX) solution, a new fast growing cloud monitoring solution built on top of Zscaler platform. The ideal software engineer is very technical with a strong full-stack background with experience in network and device data collection from endpoint devices and managing that data from the cloud.

• Hands-on in designing, writing beautiful code and quickly building prototypes.
• Natural at writing unit tests and integrating into CI/CD.
• Designed highly available backend services that scales horizontally with security in mind for public cloud applications (SaaS).
• Preferably worked on a cloud system that manages device and network data collected from endpoint devices.
• Ability to influence product requirements and architect a feasible technical solution.
• Diagnosed complex customer issues and took ownership of issue resolution.
• Pleasant to work with, passion for solving customer problems with a can-do attitude.
• Worked on an iterative and agile software delivery process.
• Collaborate closely with other cross functional engineering teams (security, UI, platform, analytics and quality assurance) 
• Delivered rock solid production ready code.
• Mentored other engineers and done code reviews.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience developing backend services in distributed and cloud environments.
• Strong programming skills in Java is Required
• Microservice development experience using Spring Boot.
• Experience designing RESTful services and APIs using frameworks like Jersey or Spring.
• Developed SaaS applications in the domain of application, device and/or network monitoring and data collection.
• Solid grasp on data structures and object-oriented design.
• Experience with scaling backend services using caching technologies such as Redis or Hazelcast. 
• Design backend messaging infrastructure using frameworks like Kafka.
• Experience with services deployed in cloud-computing environments, AWS, AZURE or GCP.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and supporting technologies like Docker and container orchestration like Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins Pipeline, Spinnaker or Bamboo).
• Networking experience is a plus (HTTP, DNS, ICMP, TCP, UDP).
• Comfortable with scoping effort and estimating development tasks.
• Bachelors and/or Masters in computer science or related field of study.
• Knowledge of desktop app development in C++  on Windows or MacOS is a plus.
