The Aerospace Corporation is hiring an undergrad Intern for the Network Systems Department in the Communication Technologies and Engineering Division (CTED). This position will be located in El Segundo, CA.
Job Summary
The Communication Technologies and Engineering Division (CTED) represents the disciplines of communications, networking, and PNT (Position, Navigation, and Timing) in support of space missions, along with their enabling technologies. In our domain, CTED projects comprise all aspects, from architectures to prototypes to implementation, theoretical to hands-on. Our engineers work directly with corporate and U.S. Government customers to ensure robust and resilient communications.
Intern will join the Network Systems Department to support activities related to systems acquisition; from requirement development all the way to validation and verification. The chosen candidate will support our space network modeling and simulation/emulation tool development as well as our post-processing suite of tools. Work Model
This position will be located 100% onsite in El Segundo, Ca.
What You’ll Be Doing
Prototype software for modeling and simulation of future network architectures.
Deliver technical briefings to customers and internal team.
Participate in the development and improvement of our networking modeling and simulation suite of tools.
Participate in development of data analysis and post-processing tools.
Collaborate onsite or remotely with our experienced networking engineers.

What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university program pursuing a Bachelor's, degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related discipline.
Sophomore class standing completed by internship start date.
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a degree program full-time after completion of the internship.
Fluent proficiency in a programming language. Python and C++ preferred.
Applied research in analytical, simulation, and/or experimental skills.
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
