Staff Accountant (HOA)

Job Summary:
Exploria Resorts is seeking a Staff Accountant to become an integral part of our team. The staff accountant will be responsible for preparing and maintaining financial records and reports, reviewing financial statements and preparing variance analysis for assigned business units. This position will also be responsible for performing account reconciliations, assisting with budgets and close processes, internal and external audits, and maintaining proper documentation. The staff accountant will report to the Senior Accounting Manager and assist with projects as needed. The ideal candidate should be able to accurately maintain a general ledger and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), in addition to having excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts
- Preparing journal entries, analysis and assisting with monthly close processes
- Review financial statements and preparing variance explanations
- Compile monthly balance sheet supporting documentation and assist with P&L review
- Assist with preparing and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections
- Maintaining documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Perform ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and modeling as requested by management
- Ensuring compliance with GAAP
Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (preferred)
- 2 plus years of relevant experience in Accounting, preferably HOA experience but not required.
- Knowledge of GAAP
- Timeshare experience is desirable
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel with strong aptitude for data analysis using advanced functions, formulas (VLOOKUP, IF Functions, Pivot Tables) and tables
- Analytical team player, self-motivated and self-starter
- Comfortable with fast-paced, demanding environment
- Detail-oriented and strong analytical skills are essential
- Ability to effectively manage time, multi-task, and prioritize projects to meet established deadlines
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and written
