About the role

Description

Provides strategic leadership and oversight for the delivery and transition of IT infrastructure and clinical/business applications to support the organization's growth initiatives. This role is accountable for managing the implementation of technology and systems for acquired clinics, new clinic build-outs, renovations, relocations, and expansions across the enterprise. The individual will set clear expectations, identify synergies, and develop strategies to drive the implementation and adoption of the organization's strategic IT framework.

In addition, this role oversees and manages daily IT operations, including the service desk, EMR support, production scheduling, incident management, and related activities. It is responsible for establishing and enforcing standards and processes for service management and IT operations across the organization. The individual will also actively participate in committees focused on process improvement, service level definition, and service level reporting to ensure alignment with organizational goals and continuous improvement in IT service delivery.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic IT Delivery:

  • Provide leadership and direction for the deployment of IT infrastructure and clinical/business applications to support organizational growth.
  • Oversee technology implementations for acquired clinics, new builds, renovations, relocations, and expansions.
  • Analyze synergies, set appropriate expectations, and develop strategies that drive adoption and implementation of strategic IT systems.

IT Operations Management:

  • Oversee daily IT operations, including the service desk, EMR support, production scheduling, incident management, and operational activities.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain standards and processes for service management and IT operations.
  • Monitor and ensure the effectiveness of incident management processes to minimize disruptions and optimize performance.

Service Management & Governance:

  • Define and control processes for service level management, including service level agreements (SLAs), reporting, and monitoring.
  • Participate in key committees such as process improvement boards and service level definition committees to drive continuous improvement in IT service delivery.
  • Develop and track performance metrics for IT operations and service delivery, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Collaboration and Leadership:

  • Act as a liaison between IT and various departments to ensure technology initiatives align with business and clinical needs.
  • Partner with stakeholders to facilitate smooth transitions and adoption of IT systems in new or renovated clinics.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to IT teams, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in IT operations, infrastructure management, or service management roles.
  • Proven experience leading IT projects in healthcare settings (preferred).

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, clinical/business applications, and healthcare technology needs.
  • Experience with service desk management, production scheduling, and incident management.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with technical teams, stakeholders, and executives.
  • Familiarity with service management frameworks such as ITIL is highly desirable.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key physical and mental requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to push or pull heavy objects using up to 50 pounds of force
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use fine motor skills to operate office equipment and/or machinery
  • Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing
  • Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem solving
  • Ability to travel to multiple work sites as needed
