Not RequiredWe are looking for a Senior Engineer – Project Engineering. The Senior Engineer will lead engineering activities related to the design, development, qualification, and production support of components within Power & Controls, with a focus on the PACK and Rotating Machinery product lines. This role also involves supporting hardware issues and implementing improvements after program development and service entry.
What You Will Do
Initiate and coordinate Class I and Class II engineering changes and deviations using the Collins Configuration Control Board process.
Serve as Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) part-level owner, including communication, risk management, and project requirements.
Present information to Engineering, Program Management, and Customer representatives.
Coordinate design changes with internal and external customers, as well as suppliers.
Demonstrate the ability to organize and execute multiple complex tasks.
Drive supplier transitions.
Lead cost reduction projects.
Analyze component reliability metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
Prior experience as Project Engineer with full product development lifecycle exposure
Qualifications We Prefer
Prior experience leading multifunctional teams across matrixed organizations, coordinating with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
Proficient in Teamcenter, MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint for project scheduling, budget tracking, and task execution.
Experience in component testing, full product lifecycle management, and applying DFMA principles.
Trained in Lean/CI methods to optimize processes, reduce costs, and improve quality.
