JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State is accepting applications for a Director of Compliance position within the Athletics Compliance Office. This Director of Compliance position will be responsible for day-to-day duties of assigned NCAA legislative bylaws and will implement and execute a comprehensive rules education program for internal and external stakeholders. In addition, this position will serve as the main contact for assigned sports and/or administrative units and will respond to interpretive inquiries, prepare and submit waiver requests and investigate and file Level III violations for assigned sports and/or administrative units.
Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
Implement and execute a comprehensive rules education program for internal stakeholders including student-athletes, coaches, staff, etc. as well as external stakeholders including boosters, third-part individuals, local businesses, alumni groups, etc.
Serve as the main point of contact for assigned sports and/or administrative units; respond to interpretive inquiries, prepare and submit waiver requests, and investigative and file level III violations for assigned sports and/or administrative units.
Manage the day-to-day duties related to assigned NCAA bylaws; including Bylaw 16: Awards and Benefits and Bylaw 12: Amateurism 12.1-12.6.
Implement and maintain an Athlete Agent Program in accordance with institutional and state guidelines.
Maintain student-athlete permanent total disability (PTD), loss of value (LOV), and critical injury insurance program.
Education and experience:
Minimum Required Qualifications: Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 4 years of full-time experience working in an Intercollegiate Athletics Compliance setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Comprehensive knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, computer skills, analytical and research skills. Ability to prioritize multiple projects and attention to detail as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications: Ideal candidate will have Master’s Degree or Juris Doctorate (JD).
