Role Overview

The Director, Compliance & Ethics (C&E) Programs, is responsible for developing and managing enterprise-wide programs designed to ensure Mitsubishi Power Americas Group companies comply with U.S. and applicable international governmental requirements in alignment with national compliance program standards and expectations.  Principally, this position is focused on competitor interaction/antitrust, government contracting, conflicts of interest, and other programs that may be assigned by the Chief Compliance Officer in a Company that handles and develops advanced technology, operates in a global environment, and is subject to oversight by various government agencies both in the U.S. and globally.  The Director of C&E Programs will be expected to lead or perform other activities commonly performed in compliance such as training, audits, and due diligence. The Director, C&E Programs will be expected to perform all tasks deemed prudent by the Chief Compliance Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote the MHI Global Code of Conduct and actively promote the ethical corporate environment demanded by Mitsubishi Power Americas leadership.
  • Encourage managers and employees to report suspected fraud and other improprieties, without fear of retaliation.
  • Manage assigned Compliance Programs, specifically Competitor Interaction, Government Contracting, Conflicts of Interest, and other programs that may emerge or be assigned by the Chief Compliance Officer
  • Provide practical support to operations and the business as needed specific to compliance programs assigned
  • Present to and represent the Compliance & Ethics department to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries
  • Perform any duties deemed prudent or in the interest of the Company
  • Write reports, memorandums, or white papers, perform audits, develop compliance aids, perform legal research, conduct or lead training
  • Mentor and guide company employees in the application of Company policies
  • Formulate and review company policies and internal controls
  • Drive compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and best business practices
  • Provide guidance, advice, and/or training and educational programs, to improve business' understanding of applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Assess compliance programs and practices, identify gaps and weaknesses, make recommendations to the Chief Compliance Officer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Compliance with professional certifications in Compliance, or related post graduate degree from an accredited university in Law preferred.
  • Credible experience building and leading programs and operations in Compliance, related to Competitor Interaction/Antitrust
  • Subject matter expertise in the practical application of competitor interaction, antitrust compliance policy, internal controls, government standards, and related audits and training
  • Administer and manage KnowBe4 training platform, NAVEX anonymous. reporting tools, System of Award Management, SharePoint, and other software platforms
  • Articulable experience in identifying potential policy and statutory/regulatory violations and risks while taking immediate corrective actions as appropriate
  • Articulable and credible experience and training in the conduct of investigations
  • Strong practical knowledge and expertise in U.S. and international government standards and expe
