Job Title: Sr. Innovator – 3D Design, HOKA Innovation

Reports to:  VP, Innovation - HOKA

Location:  Portland, Oregon

The Role

A HOKA Innovator is versatile and can approach new situations and circumstances in original ways.   This person can build on experiences and disciplinary expertise and propose novel solutions.  They are inquisitive and perceptive in nature and motivated by change, like to experiment and willing to take risks with ideas and new ways to do things.

A HOKA innovator can identify needs and opportunities and come up with out-of-the-box solutions.  They are original in their thoughts and ask others to view a situation or practice in a new way. Most importantly this individual is entrepreneurial that can “ideate and make” and is able to carry a project from inception to commercialization.

The Sr. Innovator – 3D Design requires extensive 3D footwear design expertise with proven success.  Ability to sketch shoes accurately, proportionately, and provide detailed specifications. Must understand the footwear production process at the factory level. High level of creativity with proven experience of innovative thinking through the design and 3D process, and/or product development

Your Impact
 

• Works with the design leadership to implement brand vision, design language and product direction. Works with biomechanical / testing team to evaluate and refine product platforms
• Manage and drive multiple innovation projects that align to the innovation calendar 
• Presents concepts with strong verbal and visual execution, while clearly communicating design process and vision
• Design compelling high-performance product that adheres to brand guidelines and answers consumer needs and works with Innovation team to bring technical product to market.
• Develop and create illustrations and tech packs for new design concepts using Illustrator, detailing concept, materials, and development specifications based on HOKA brand design guidelines
• Create accurate, detailed, high-quality renderings and CADS quickly and efficiently.      
• Create accurate tech packs for outsole and upper designs.                   
• Draw cross sections and read blueprints accurately.
• Deliver on-time product solutions ensuring that all deadlines, line plans, and deliverables are met
• Study and research current and future market and 3D trends, maintaining expert knowledge in global design trends, market competition, and retail landscape
• Work with developers in US and Asia, adhere to the product calendar, ensuring development projects are on track.
• Work with developers / materials team to coordinate and develop new materials, constructions, processes and procedures.
• Responsible for getting 3D prototypes and samples executed to reflect the concept and design created by the team or self
• Review, revise and approve prototypes in a timely manner with the key stakeholders
• Special projects as assigned.
• Travel with the team on development and inspiration trips, to sales meetings, select tradeshows, and significant retail regions/districts
