Athletic Trainer – Tuckahoe Orthopaedic & Physical Therapy - Richmond
Job Summary:
The Athletic Trainer plays a crucial role in delivering clinical support to patient care, working closely with supervising providers or physical therapists. They specialize in injury assessment, bracing, rehabilitation, and facilitating return-to-play and functional training. The Athletic Trainer also coordinates patient education, develops treatment plans, and supports providers in scheduling and documentation.
Essential Functions:
Assist in the daily clinical treatment of patients, supporting physical therapists in implementing treatment plans.
Provide guidance to patients on exercise programs, treatment plans, bracing, and scheduling.
Manage and coordinate injury prevention programs for athletes, as well as cash-based functional return-to-play programming.
Coordinate care with outreach athletic trainers, physical therapists, and other medical professionals to optimize physician clinical throughput.
Document injury treatments and develop plans of care.
Maintain competency through participation in continuing education, in-services, and other learning opportunities.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training (required)
Master’s degree in Athletic Training (preferred)
Required Licensing & Certifications:
NATA BOC Certified – National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (required)
Current Athletic Trainer license in the state in which they are practicing (required)
BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, required within 30 days for BSMH, required at hire for RSFH)
Experience:
2 years of experience in equivalent setting (preferred)
