Period of Appointment

Appointment to the role is on a fixed term full-time basis for 12 months. 

Duties

• Utilise the Bridge Management System to scope, develop, monitor and execute bridge maintenance, renewal or upgrade projects which align with strategic policies and guidelines.
• Preparation of briefs and specifications required for scoping, development, contract administration or investigation type work.
• Inspect, monitor and report on bridge and structure performance generally, including new construction projects throughout delivery until completion.
• Although there are no staff reporting to this position, the incumbent is required to supervise technical staff or consultants in the performance of duties where directed.
• Provide specialised technical advice on maintenance, renewal and construction of bridges and structures to project delivery and other staff, including training as appropriate.
• Represent the Department on state and national committees relevant to the primary duties as required.
• Perform other duties in other areas of State oad asset management as required.

Essential Requirements

Evidence of the following must be provided prior to appointment to this role:

• Satisfactory completion of a relevant 4-year (minimum) university degree in engineering that is accredited by Engineers Australia; or satisfactory completion of academic qualifications in Engineering that are recognised by Engineers Australia as being an equivalent qualification.
• Current driver licence.

The person must continue to satisfy the above essential requirements/qualifications throughout their employment in this role.

Desirable Requirements

• Post graduate qualifications in a relevant discipline.
