The Role

Join our Controlling team as an  Accounting Manager Global Trade – based in Hamburg, Germany or Rotterdam, Netherlands. The main purpose of this role is to be a finance professional providing accurate and insightful financial and management information and to maintain an effective fiduciary control environment for our destination marketing business in the Netherlands

 

Your Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and timely completion of monthly reporting within the deadlines
• Ensure balance sheet accounts are accurate and reconciled
• Monitor Accounts Receivables and Payables in terms of aging and clearance
• Perform or supervise the monthly mark-to-market evaluation of commodity contracts and inventories
• Analyze the PnL to provide insightful information to the business operations
• Interact with logistic teams to understand business flows and support implementing into accounting structures
• Ensure compliance with company policies and US GAAP / local rules and regulations
• Review and maintain SOX controls and make sure appropriate procedures are in place and followed
• Complete annual review/revision of Key Financial Controls and work to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of internal controls
• Liaise with audit teams – both internal and external to ensure successful and timely completion of audit reviews

Your Profile:

• Bachelor or comparable degree in Business Administration or Accounting
• 3+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance
• Market knowledge in commodity, futures and forex
• Strong analytical abilities, initiative and problem solving skills
• Excellent user knowledge in Microsoft Office, experience in ERP systems like NetSuite would be beneficial
• Excellent and effective communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to meet demanding deadlines and adapt quickly to changing business needs
• Open to business travel
