Brief Description
The purpose of this position is to manage the overall administration of the Brazos River Authority's (BRA) employee benefits plans. This is accomplished by maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of employee information, researching and obtaining the best plans from benefit providers at the most competitive rates; communicating benefits and their respective costs to management and employees; ensuring that the organization remains in compliance with all governmental regulations by recommending modifications to current benefit plans, policies, and/or procedures; managing all contracting processes; and managing retirement benefits by serving as the point of contact for employees, retirees, and beneficiaries, securing retiree data, and communicating with actuaries to provide retiree benefit information. Other responsibilities include serving as the BRA's Health Plan Privacy Officer; serving as the contact for employee accidents and workers compensation claims; assisting employees and supervisors with FMLA, ADA, and LTD issues; coordinating the annual health and benefit fairs; processing benefit invoices; preparing benefit reports; interacting with employees, managers, benefit providers and the public; maintaining knowledge of legal requirements and best practices; ensuring compliance of policies and procedures; and any other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
- Minimum five years' Human Resources and employee benefits-related experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification

STARTING SALARY RANGE: Min: $68,142 to $88,585 annual salary. This is an exempt position.
