Job Summary:
This role is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing a team of independently licensed behavioral health clinicians within an integrated care setting in one or more AbsoluteCare centers. This role focuses on providing high-quality, evidence-based behavioral health services, with a special emphasis on serving individuals diagnosed with serious mental illness (SMI). The manager collaborates closely with medical providers, care coordinators, and administrative staff to ensure seamless integration of behavioral health and primary care services. The Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the team based on key performance indicators and delivering clinical care for members in crisis, individual, and/or group settings.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of independently licensed behavioral health clinicians, fostering professional growth and excellence in clinical practice.
- Oversee the delivery of behavioral health services for the SMI population, ensuring clinical interventions are person-centered, trauma-informed, and aligned with best practices.
- Collaborate with primary care, psychiatry, and other allied health professionals to promote integrated care and improve patient outcomes.
- Monitor and manage clinical operations, including caseload assignments, documentation, compliance with regulatory standards, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve access to behavioral health care for SMI individuals, including outreach, engagement, and retention efforts.
- Facilitate regular team meetings, case conferences, and trainings to support continuous learning and quality improvement.
- Analyze program data and outcomes to inform service delivery and report to leadership on key metrics and initiatives.
- Serve as a resource for crisis intervention, risk assessment, and coordination of care for high-acuity cases.
- Provide direct clinical care via crisis, individual, and/or group interventions.
- Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, social service agencies, and external stakeholders to support comprehensive care for the SMI population.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a behavioral health related field
- Independently clinically licensed in the state of practice (e.g., LPCC, LISW); qualified clinical supervisors will be given preference
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a community mental health center (CMHC), Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), inpatient psychiatric facility, intensive outpatient clinic or other setting that serves clientele with complex behavioral health needs. Experience with complex Medicaid / Medicare beneficiaries preferred
- Demonstrated experience working with SMI populations, preferably in integrated care settings.
- Strong leadership, team-building, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in electronic health records, data management, and quality improvement processes.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing behavioral health practice.
- Hold and maintain active driver’s license and proof of insurance in state of practice.
Preferred Skills:
- Qualified Supervisor designation via the applicable State board.
- Experience with trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, harm-reduction and recovery-oriented approaches.
- Experience with chronic disease management, e.g., CKD, HIV, COPD, Diabetes
- Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced, multidisciplinary environments.

Working Conditions:
This job operates in the community and within a professional office environment and routinely uses general office equipment. This role requires reliable transportation to commute back and forth between inpatient facilities and office; and routinely uses general office equipment.
