CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CLASS:
The Director, Strategic Sourcing & Logistics will provide strategic leadership and executional guidance to materials, inventory management, and material productivity throughout the company’s expanding distribution and manufacturing network. This role will have primary responsibility to identify cost savings opportunities through alternate sourcing, insourcing/outsourcing, material changes and supplier negotiations. In addition, the role will play a prominent role with partnering with site supply chain and planning leaders to ensure material availability remains at world class levels. He or she will be expected to cultivate and leverage multiple cross-functional business relationships to identify and execute creative solutions to organizational opportunities and challenges. As a key member of the Operations Leadership Team, the director will partner with manufacturing, sourcing, engineering leadership, and product management/leadership in ensuring our operating efforts are aligned to support broader business objectives.
The role reports directly to the Senior Director of Global Materials & Fulfillment, with a dotted line to the Chief Quality & Operating Officer (CQOO). His/her direct report will include the Manager of Strategic Supply Chain. In addition, this role will have a strong partnership with site based supply chain leadership and staff, along with the General Manager of the Dungarvan, IE site.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Own material and logistical cost savings efforts including ideation, viability and execution. Partner with primary stakeholders to create opportunities and build project funnel based on organizational priorities.
- Identify opportunities for sourcing of new products through a strategic supplier selection process. Partner with product management to understand requirements, manage quote process and vendor selection.
- Lead/manage logistics and carriers. Maintain routing guide for any changes as required. Evaluate, identify, and drive execution of logistics at the overall business level. Manage suppliers and any escalations required to drive cost-effective, on-time shipments and deliveries.
- Contribute to the development and ongoing maintenance of a high-functioning S&OP process, partnering with commercial and manufacturing leadership to ensure appropriate forecasting and capacity planning to meet demand. Assess viability of systems-based approach.
- Deepen reporting to ensure project status, including parking lot, are clear to all stakeholders. Leverage for status updates, prioritization, resource allocation, etc.
- Play a leadership role with the ongoing review and execution of facility consolidation efforts from modeling and recommendation through project execution.
- Partner with corporate Quality & Regulatory to ensure ongoing compliance with ISO standards, FDA guidelines and alignment with all other environmental standards and regulations.
- Assess supply chain risk to enable prioritization and actions to mitigate supply risk for the business.
- Collaborate with leadership peers in a cross-functional matrix environment to identify and execute solutions to complex business problems.
- Act as a strategic business partner to the CQOO and operations management team in the effective and profitable execution of the company’s short- and long-range strategic objectives.
- Ownership of departmental operating plans and budgets, including capital expenditures.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Training and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or a related field; Master’s Degree a plus.
- 10+ years of broad-ranging professional experience in operations, with particular focus in distribution and supply chain, accompanied by at least 3+ years in a management capacity, required.
