About the role

The Accountant supports accurate financial recording, reconciliation, and reporting to enable sound business decisions. This role prepares journal entries, maintains general ledger integrity, assists with month-end close, and supports audits. The Accountant analyzes variances, ensures compliance with policies and GAAP, and collaborates with cross-functional partners to resolve issues. Responsibilities include managing accounts, preparing schedules, and improving processes. The role may provide guidance to junior staff and contribute to forecasting support.

DISCIPLINE

The Staff Accountant, Supply Chain will fill a critical role on Asurion’s Supply Chain Finance team and will be responsible for key aspects of the closing and reporting processes, i.e. journal entries, reconciliations ,and analysis of accounts. This role will be responsible for developing, improving, and adhering to
accounting procedures, and providing support for ongoing operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Support supply chain initiatives which deliver value to Asurion and assurances that these
benefits are driven into the P&L in a timely manner.
• Assist in developing short- and long-term goals and objectives, including cost saving initiatives.
• Provide financial and operational driver analytical insights in helping drive Supply Chain
operations success.
• Responsible for setting up the accounting, reporting, forecasting, and analysis of inventory
activities.
• Provide ad-hoc analysis as needed to help business partners make better decisions in a timely
manner.
• Use accounting concepts and internal company policies to assure internal controls.
• Use various data mining tools and analysis techniques to turn complex data into accurate and
relevant information for end users.
• Prepare/Create various inventory dashboard reports on a weekly/monthly basis.
• Interact positively and pro-actively between international departments to promote a global
teamwork philosophy.
• Coordinate flow of information and assimilate data necessary to prepare required reporting.
• Promote the company's Core Values and adherence to those values.


Education and Experience:
 A proven track record of academic and professional excellence.
 Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance, MBA, CPA viewed favorably.
 1-2 year’s experience in a high growth or transformational environment with similar responsibilities.
 Hands-on style with ability to dig into details.
 Deep financial, data mining experience, SQL viewed favorably.
 Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
 Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)Strong financial systems
aptitude.
