The Senior Production Planner/Inventory Control Analyst coordinates and expedites the flow of work and materials within and between departments according to daily and weekly production schedules. This includes the review and distribution of production, work, and shipment schedules and conferring with department team leads, supervisors and managers to determine progress of work and estimating completion dates, inventory levels and tracking daily production activity. This position is the key interface between Operations and Customer Care with regard to customer expedites and the proactive communication of any schedule exceptions/delays. The goal is to meet customer demand by optimizing an efficient production schedule.

In terms of inventory control, this position also analyzes inventory transactions and history to make adjustments to inventory on hand balances (predominantly WIP). This position facilitates the cycle count process including the review of results, problem solving and recommendation of adjustments and approval (per matrix) to ensure a high level of inventory integrity is maintained on the production floor. This role needs to be knowledgeable in terms of products, internal customers/work centers, material concepts and the ERP transactional processes.

  • Create and maintain Value Stream production schedules to meet customer demand/expectations and optimize operational efficiency including Stock and Sold orders

  • Perform data analysis and decision making based on raw material supply and finished goods demand

  • Manage and schedule all customer expedites from end to end providing clear, concise delivery information to Customer Care

  • Proactively communicate any schedule changes/exceptions to Customer Care. For any missed shipments, provide new current confirmed ship dates.

  • Manage/coordinate any front end schedule exceptions to minimize delays/customer impact including new, obsolete and depleting SKU's as well as missing item master information

  • Support the cycle count process including the summary of information, analysis, problem solving and approval per Finance Matrix. For larger adjustments, present data/make recommendations including corrective action for department manager approval.

  • Create production reports on key metrics (e.g., on time delivery, cycle count accuracy, adjustments, etc)

  • Assist management by answering questions, providing lead-times, and solving problems related to sold and stock orders shipments

  • Actively participate in kaizen events supporting SQDCIP initiatives

  • Actively participate in physical inventory as a key member of the core execution team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required preferably in a technical area in Industrial engineering or manufacturing management or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, scheduling, planning, or a related role
