About the role

Job Description:

The Facilities Management Director of Operations will report to the Global Head of Facilities Management, supporting the execution of FM strategies and day-to-day operational oversight for our client account portfolio across the U.S., EMEA, APAC, and Latin America. This role is critical to ensuring the seamless delivery of facility management services, driving operational excellence, and fostering strong client relationships. The Director of Operations will lead global initiatives, manage key priorities, and act as a liaison between the Global Head of FM and account teams, ensuring alignment and accountability.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Provide direct support to the Global Head of FM in overseeing all aspects of facility management operations, including EH&S, vendor management, critical space management, and cost control.
  • Serve as the operational point of contact for regional FM leaders, ensuring consistent implementation of best practices and alignment with global strategies.
  • Drive process improvements and efficiencies through innovative, actionable strategies.
  • Partner with the Global Head of FM to manage client relationships, ensuring service excellence and alignment with client expectations.
  • Support new business solutioning and bid processes, working closely with the Global Head of FM to refine offerings and ensure competitive positioning.
  • Lead and support new account transitions, ensuring seamless handover and ramp-up of FM services.
  • Act as a senior representative in meetings and communications as required.
  • Support escalated issue resolution, managing follow-through to completion and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Assist in managing the financial aspects of FM operations, including budgeting, cost containment, savings initiatives, and expense reconciliation.
  • Monitor global cost-saving initiatives, tracking progress and identifying opportunities to optimize spending.
  • Collaborate with account FM teams to ensure adequate staffing and resources to support portfolio needs.
  • Mentor and coach FM team members, fostering a culture of growth, accountability, and excellence.
  • Assist in talent acquisition, development, and succession planning to build a robust and capable operations team.
  • Support team mobilization and optimization during transitions or as part of operational improvements.
  • Lead the identification and implementation of innovative solutions to improve service delivery, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Drive the adoption of technology and data-driven decision-making across the FM organization.
  • Support the development and integration of technology and innovation within solutions to optimize facility management services.
  • Assist in refining maintenance programs to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with client needs.
  • Oversee the implementation of the Business Continuity Management program in collaboration with regional teams, ensuring readiness for critical incidents.
  • Support compliance with EH&S standards and other regulatory requirements across the portfolio.
  • Monitor global KPIs, providing regular updates to the Global Head of FM and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports summarizing operational performance, cost savings, and key achievements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of operational insights to support strategic decision-making 

Skills, Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent relevant work experience in Facility Management (10+ years)
  • Professional certifications (e.g. FMP or CFM) is preferred 
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems within various critical environments
  • Facilities procurement experience as a third-party provider or end user, sourcing services including landscaping, HVAC maintenance, predictive maintenance, janitorial services, etc., in union and non-union environments.
  • Extensive experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Excellent oral and written communication, as well as strong presentation skills required.
