Overall Purpose

Responsible for leading the day to day operations, roadmap and management of assigned production platforms ensuring best practices, quality and service levels are achieved.  

Essential Functions

  • Provide exceptional leadership to a team of operations engineers and support analysts to develop a highly engaged, high performing team supporting a large, production Big Data environment to deliver against company objectives. 
  • Work with software engineering to plan work pipeline and align resource availability with forthcoming releases.
  • Provide input and non-functional requirements for new projects (technical requirements, constraints and resourcing needs).
  • Monitor and adjust service level objectives for all managed applications to ensure external SLAs are met.
  • Create a rolling resource forecasts (including skill needs) and manage against actual utilization, including identification of upcoming products and releases.
  • Manage 2nd and 3rd level technical and functional support teams for customer facing applications.
  • Manage an on-call support rotation and ensure 24/7 coverage.
  • Escalation management of Production issues.
  • Manage Incident and Problem management processes as they relate to this group.
  • Manage UAT and Performance testing functions.
  • Maintain & adapt Policies and Procedures as they apply to the function carried out by this team.
  • Participate in audits for all applications. Serves as point of contact for risk identification and mitigation.
  • Ensures operational requirements are understood and incorporated in any new product design.
  • Ensure Disaster Recovery readiness within department and ensure that the compilation of testing results is produced for consumption by senior management, audit, and clients.
  • Support the company’s commitment to protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education and/or experience typically obtained through completion of a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Typically 12 or more years of demonstrated experience in areas of development, service delivery and project management.
  • Demonstrated success or ability to retain highly engaged, high performing teams.
  • Highly effective problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to relate business needs to system capabilities and to fully understand the role of the systems and impacts to the business.
  • Ability to maintain strategic focus while addressing tactical issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and deliverables across the team.
  • Detailed understanding of company business and technology platform, customer interaction with the systems, and best practices for implementation and support.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Background and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and/or experience in financial institution operations related to assigned platform capabilities desired.

Physical Requirements

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment.  Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours.  Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching.  Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently.  Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers.  Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.
