Role Summary

The World Class Manufacturing (WCM) Manager will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and ensuring the highest levels of quality, efficiency, and productivity within our manufacturing facility. They are responsible for leading and implementing continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing processes, and fostering a culture of excellence in manufacturing operations. Their leadership and expertise will be instrumental in achieving world-class manufacturing standards.

Key Responsibilities

CI Program Leadership: Lead and direct the company's Continuous Improvement Program, identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and waste elimination. Initiate and oversee long and short-term projects, focusing on enhancing production efficiencies. Topics may include plant floor and work center layout, material handling, material selection, and more.

Magna Factory Concept (MAFACT): Ensure plantwide compliance with MAFACT by conducting internal, regular assessments and using results to develop and implement improvement action plans.

Strategic Planning: Establish current and long-range objectives, plans, and policies aligned with program objectives. Allocate resources effectively and monitor performance against the plan to ensure goals are met.

Project Selection: Collaborate with management to identify and establish project selection criteria, emphasizing overall process and quality improvement through standardization of best practices.

Team Management: Develop and manage cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives. Monitor group and individual productivity, recommending changes as needed. Provide leadership and support to the project teams.

Process Integration: Facilitate process design changes by integrating new systems and processes with existing ones. Foster a team-based organization focused on project goals and objectives.

Performance Measurement: Develop performance measurement tracking mechanisms to support project objectives. Review management reports to ensure projects achieve stated goals and align with business objectives.

Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain effective communication and collaboration with management, supervision, and plant manufacturing to ensure CI performance meets objectives. Champion CI projects to ensure timely completion

Budget Management: Assist in planning and developing the CI budget for the division.

Compliance and Safety: Ensure manufacturing CI projects comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to health, safety, and the environment.

Other Duties: Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Continuous Improvement Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma. The ability to apply these principles effectively to identify opportunities for process enhancement, waste reduction, and cost optimization. Strategic Leadership: Strong strategic thinking and planning skills to establish clear objectives, policies, and long-term plans aligned with the organization's goals. The capability to allocate resources strategically and monitor performance to ensure objectives are met. Team Leadership and Development: Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to build and lead cross-functional teams. A talent for motivating and coaching team members to achieve project goals and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Communication and Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. The ability to represent the company professionally with customers and suppliers while maintaining productive relationships. Quality and Statistical Control: Proficiency in using quality and statistical control tools, along with the capacity to teach and mentor others in these methodologies. The ability to establish performance measurement tracking mechanisms to support project objectives and ensure alignment with business goals.
