BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Howard University is seeking a highly skilled Workday Financials Senior Analyst to drive to drive the success of our Post Award Grants Management processes. This role involves configuring and maintaining the underlying features to manage grants and awards, to include creating and managing grants and sponsors, and configure and manage award budgets, revenue and billing, along with facilities and administration. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in Workday Financials with strong analytical and collaboration skills to streamline workflows and deliver data-driven insights.

NATURE AND SCOPE:
This role is responsible for implementing Workday post-production support initiatives across Workday Grants Management, including identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance automation, and improve efficiency in post award operations. Collaborate with cross-functional team to integrate post award business processes with procurement, payables, expenses, and other functionalities. Act as a liaison between Accounting/Finance, Grants Management, Sponsored Programs to address system-related issues and improvements.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Configure and maintain awards, revenue and billing, effort certifications and other Workday modules and features in both grants management and financial accounting.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize financial reports, dashboards, and analytics using Workday Financials to support decision-making across the University.
- Provide training and ongoing support to end-users on the effective use of Workday Financials, ensuring users are fully equipped to leverage the platform’s capabilities.
- Work with business subject matter experts to document requirements, use cases and facilitate UAT.
- Lead system testing for new features, configurations, and system upgrades, ensuring seamless transition and minimal disruption to business processes.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Prior experience with grants management/sponsored programs or government contracting with an understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., Uniform Guidance 2 CFR 200). Experience with Workday’s reporting tools, such as Report Writer, BIRT, Workday Studio, or Composite Reporting.
