Job Summary: Under general supervision. Assist with the creation and coordination of work-based learning (WBL) partnerships, paid and non-paid internships, career presentations and tours, field trips and job shadowing. Help students with developmental disabilities and or Autism, refine their critical thinking, workplace readiness and technical skills; that are essential to pursuing healthy independent living with a long-lasting competitive workforce wage.


Essential Functions

1. Highly developed organizational, time management, human relations and interpersonal communication and writing skills; self-motivated, flexible, and creative.

2. Network with local businesses/employers

3. Develop employment opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities and or Autism.

4. Provide vocational counseling and job coaching to individuals.

5. Ability to manage multiple priorities and solve problems.

6. Experience with planning, creating, coordinating, and completing activities and or projects.

7. Monitor job placements with a goal of 90-day retention.

8. Able to utilize assistive technologies.

9. Knowledge of incident reporting.

10. Case Management (develop and prepare written assessment of individuals’ adjustment to life and work and file them in case records).

11. Counsel and possibly instruct students on subjects related to life matters.

12. Develop professional relationships and visit work-based learning sites and programs.

13. Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations, guidelines, and standards related to WBL.

14. Knowledgeable understanding of WIOA.

15. Assist with quarterly academy assemblies and graduation.

16. Work closely with Residential Life and Student Activity Staff and Applied Academic staff.

17. Ability to be flexible and complete tasks as unforeseen events arise.

18. Provides transportation when necessary.

19. Model, mentor, and motivate the value of appropriate and effective independent living standards and workforce success.


Qualifications

· High School Diploma or Associate Degree, experience directly related to the

essential functions specified.

· 2 or more years of work experience in Applied Behavior Analysis

(not required but a plus).

· 2 or more years of experience working directly and successfully with adults

having autism spectrum disorder or other developmental disabilities.

· Operating knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint,

Outlook and other department software.

· Possession of a valid driver’s license.

· CPR/First Aid (not mandatory but a plus)

· Ability to participate in physical activity.

· Ability to stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time.

· Light to moderate lifting.

 Special Requirements:

· Criminal arrest check will be done through the OSBI; Per Section 1025.1 et seq. Of Title 56 of the Oklahoma statues, House Bill 1790, any prospective employee with a felony or misdemeanor conviction, guilty plea or plea of nolo contendere will not be eligible for employment. This prohibition may be disregarded if an appropriate waiver is obtained from the Office of the Director, DDSD, Department of Human Services, or his/her designees.

· Community Services Registry checks (House Bill 1790) will be done through DDSD, Department of Human Services. The person whose name appears on the registry cannot work for A New Leaf.

· Employees and A New Leaf are engaged in an at-will employment relationship, meaning that either are free to terminate the relationship at any time with or without reason and with or without notice.
