New Pig is currently seeking a resourceful and adaptable Systems Administrator to take responsibility for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of corporate IT infrastructure. Our IT team is a unique blend of operations and development and provides for an innovative, energetic, and ever-changing work environment. This position is located in Tipton, works the daylight shift, and requires 24x7 on-call nights and weekends. Responsibilities:

New Pig is currently seeking a resourceful and adaptable Systems Administrator to take responsibility for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of corporate IT infrastructure. Our IT team is a unique blend of operations and development and provides for an innovative, energetic, and ever-changing work environment. This position is located in Tipton, works the daylight shift, and requires 24x7 on-call nights and weekends. Responsibilities:
- Scripting for task automation and app/infrastructure support and troubleshooting
- Supporting all applications as assigned and resolving any issues as they arise
- Troubleshooting system issues quickly and effectively
- Assisting with providing administration, troubleshooting, configuration, installation, deployment, maintenance, and upgrades for highly available systems
- Developing and documenting processes for maintaining areas of responsibility
- Demonstrating capabilities to work in a dynamic environment; translating company needs into solutions
- Providing day-to-day operational support including responding to incidents, troubleshooting, and executing corrective action
- When necessary, interacting with vendors to reach problem resolution; may include opening a service call, providing logs, and responding to advice received by phone call or email
- Development, maintenance, and testing of contingency plans
- Ensuring effective security, operation, and peak performance of servers
- Working closely with development teams to implement and support New Pig’s information systems and application platforms
- Analyzing future needs for equipment acquisition and preparing corresponding budget proposals
- Providing onsite and remote support as necessary as a member of a 24x7 team
- Working flexible schedule to include weekends, holidays, and nights
- Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combo of education/experience
- 4+ Years of experience as a System Administrator
- Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot and administer:
- VMWare ESXi
- Windows Server (2016-2022)
- Microsoft Active Directory and all its components/capabilities
- Microsoft TCP/IP Networking (DHCP, DNS, etc.)
- User accounts and security
- MS365 suite of applications
- Proficient in PowerShell
- IT security best practices
- Critical thinking, decisiveness, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Individuals must be able to work independently and must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Constant learner
- Good prioritizing and time management skills
- Able to function and adjust in a fast pace and busy environment
- Must work on-call as specified, nights, and weekends
- Willing to learn new technologies in line with New Pig’s present and future needs
- Require minimal training or guidance to evaluate new technologies and easily come up to speed as self-starter
- Great documentation skills and willing to work both independently and with a team
