Job DetailsJob Location: Newton, KS 67114Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: High SchoolSalary Range: $18.00 - $28.00 HourlyJob Shift: 1st ShiftWelder grade level and pay dependent upon experience and preemployment weld test.  Higher grade levels depend upon experience with Robotic Programming and Exotic Welding.

General Summary

Welds ferrous and non-ferrous metals. May use GMAW or Resistance Spot Welding processes. Sets own welding machine, changes wire spools, gas cylinders, and does preventive maintenance of welding machine, wire feeder and related equipment. Loads own parts in fixtures. May be responsible for the set-up, maintenance, and operation of robotic (or cobot) welding equipment.

 

Essential Functions:


Must be able to remain in a stationary position during shift
Fabricate new metal components in accordance with product data sheets and in compliance with all applicable standards of safety and performance
Maintain tools and equipment to a professional standard. Keep workstation clean and orderly to retain a safe and operational work environment
Execute welds in a professional manner, examine work pieces for defects, and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications
Notify manager of inventory needs
May be required to grind welds
Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor


 

Expectations:

You will be expected to obtain the tools listed as "Minimum Required Tools" for your classification. Regular attendance and starting on time are essential. Are expected to pass AWS D1.1 Certification within first 30 days of employment. AWS D1.1 Certification is required for Grade B- and higher. Responsible for the quality of your own work and to not accept poor quality workmanship from others. Expected to perform at acceptable quality and performance levels and strive for continuous improvement as described in Full Vision's Quality Policy.

Occasionally Moves parts weighing up to 80 pounds.  
Exposure to noise – continuously
Frequently Lifting/carrying/moving up to 65 pounds
Hand/Eye coordination – frequently
Standing, Twisting, Walking – frequently
Continuous standing and walking on concrete surfaces

Position Requirements:


GED or High School Diploma
Passage of Drug Test
Passage of Physical Agility Test
Passage of a hands-on preemployment weld test
Stable work history
Ability to read and interpret simple assembly instructions and drawings
Ability to work in a team environment with effective interpersonal skills
Understands Quality and the effect it has in a production environment
Good organizational skills
Two years manufacturing experience
Personal integrity and dependability
