About the role

Dark Wolf Solutions is seeking an experienced Weapon System Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide specialized guidance and leadership in the development and enhancement of complex cyber weapon systems. This role is pivotal in advising on the technical aspects of various systems including AFINC, ACD, CDA, CSCS, JWICS, SAP, and XCOMM. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise and strategic insight to our cyber capability development, engineering, and integration efforts.  This position will be based on site at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX. The ideal candidate must have US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert-level guidance and technical oversight for at least one of the specified systems (AFINC, ACD, CDA, CSCS, JWICS, SAP, XCOMM), with a minimum of 3 years' specialized experience.
  • Lead in compliance with DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program or DoDD 8140.01, Cyberspace Workforce Management.
  • Direct technical aspects of project tracking, documentation, and adherence to AF instructions and security implementation guides.
  • Conduct detailed technical analyses to inform solution development and integration strategies.
  • Develop and maintain databases to support the 688th Cyberspace Wing's technological baseline and capability.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to align technical capabilities with strategic objectives and enterprise standardization strategies.
  • Advise on the technical requirements, design, and implementation of cyber weapon systems, ensuring alignment with DOTMLPF requirements.
  • Participate in and contribute to the OODA Loop decision-making processes for capability onboarding and sustainment.
  • Innovate and inform policy development, review existing governance, and ensure compliance with federal mandates and guidelines.
  • Generate technical reports and conduct thorough analysis of current and potential hardware and software tools, including recommendations for tool consolidation and software capability enhancements.
  • Lead the technical development and modernization efforts for cyber weapon systems like AFINC, ACD, CDA, CSCS, JWICS, SAP, and XCOMM, aligning with 688CW's strategic objectives.
  • Analyze and integrate new technologies to enhance the capabilities and performance of cyber weapon systems.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and evaluation of weapon systems to ensure reliability, performance, and compliance with security standards.
  • Develop and implement robust cybersecurity measures, ensuring the protection and resilience of weapon systems against emerging threats.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, IT, and project management, to ensure cohesive system development and deployment.
  • Provide technical leadership in weapon system integration, ensuring seamless communication and compatibility between different components.
  • Guide the strategic planning and execution of cyber weapon systems projects, including budget management, resource allocation, and schedule adherence.
  • Participate in key decision-making processes, providing expert advice and technical solutions to enhance the operational efficiency of weapon systems.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a relevant technical role compliant with DoD 8570.01-M or DoDD 8140.01
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Proven track record in guiding the technical development of complex systems in a defense or cyber operations environment
  • US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to translate complex technical language for non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience in agile development methodologies and DevSecOps practices
  • Demonstrated ability in leading technical teams and managing multi-disciplinary projects
  • Certifications like CISSP, PMP, or relevant technical certifications are highly desirable

This position is located in San Antonio, TX and the successful candidate will need to report onsite daily. The salary range is expected to be between $130,000.00 - $180,000.00 commensurate on experience.
