Description
Under the direction of the Aquatics Director, the Waterslide Attendant ensures the safety of all children using the waterslide at the Stephens Family YMCA.
KNOW-HOW
The Waterslide Attendant will support the work of the YMCA, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, health living and social responsibility. They will monitor and maintain a safe environment on and around the waterslide.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified applicants must:
- Be a minimum of 15 years of age.
- Demonstrate maturity.
- Have afternoon, night and weekend availability.
- Display confidence when managing children.
- Have adequate vision and hearing to effectively see and hear distress signs.
- Possess or obtain as part of employment First Aid and CPR/AED certification.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise all children using the waterslide.
- Make sound judgements in emergency situations and when enforcing rules regarding the use of the waterslide.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of emergency procedures, including completion of proper documentation.
- Help Aquatics staff keep the pool area safe, clean and neat in appearance.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with volunteers, members or program participants and colleagues at all levels of the organization.
- Attend all required staff meetings and trainings.
