ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN MAINTENANCE I

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As an Electronics Technician Maintenance I, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of Product Director Army Watercraft Systems.
- Installation, repair, and maintenance services for the Integrated Bridge Systems (IBS), Navigation Systems, Communication Systems, and Global Marine Distress Safety Systems (GMDSS) aboard US Army Watercraft System (AWS) vessels.
- This includes a wide range of tasks, from installing equipment foundations and electrical cabling to maintaining critical components like Radar S-Band and X-Band scanners, Electronic Display and Information Systems (ECDIS), GPS, Auto Pilot systems, and steering controls.
- Support crane operations for topside repairs involving radar and communication equipment and perform specialized maintenance on Sound Powered Telephones (SPT-SPP) including wiring, handset, and generator replacements, as well as Uninterrupted Power Supplies.
- Annual maintenance is conducted on ship navigation gyrosphere systems (STD22 and STD22 NX models), alongside component-level circuit card and control repairs.
- Aid on GMDSS systems, encompassing repairs to VHF, MF/HF, and INMARSAT satellite communication systems, as well as NAVTEX navigation systems and their associated power supplies, with regular firmware and software updates.
- Contribute to the upkeep of the CECOM C5I Sustainment, Integrated Lab and Training Facility in Newport News, Virginia, and the Maintenance Support Facility (Annex) at Joint Base Langley Fort Eustis through general maintenance tasks.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $23.49 - $31.79. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.Scheduled Weekly Hours:
