Position Overview

Vertical Mechanical Group is seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse operations at our Berryville, VA facility. This leadership role is responsible for managing inventory, supervising warehouse personnel, coordinating material movement, and ensuring efficient operations that support our fabrication shop and field teams. The ideal candidate is organized, safety-focused, and experienced in warehouse management within a construction, manufacturing, or industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, inventory control, and material staging.
  • Lead, train, and develop warehouse staff while promoting a positive, accountable team environment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels through cycle counts and inventory audits.
  • Coordinate material deliveries and pickups to support fabrication shop and field operations.
  • Ensure warehouse organization, cleanliness, and efficient storage practices.
  • Operate and oversee the safe use of forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing requests to prevent material shortages.
  • Work closely with project managers, fabrication personnel, purchasing, and field leadership to prioritize material needs.
  • Enforce company safety policies and OSHA standards throughout the warehouse.
  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain records of shipments, inventory transactions, and warehouse activities using inventory management systems.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of warehouse supervision or warehouse management experience.
  • Experience in the construction, mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial industries preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management and warehouse operations.
  • Experience operating forklifts; forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain certification.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a warehouse environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical education or logistics experience is a plus.
