​​The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the efficient operation of Cook & Boardman's warehouse, and inventory flow. Included in this area of responsibility are receiving and shipping through the warehouse, deliveries, inventory activities and maintaining a safe and clean facility. Helps supervise staff including drivers and warehouse workers and helps facilitate new hires.​

Essential Functions
• ​​Helps receive incoming material and assembles and marks shipments based on current frame, door and hardware schedule
• ​Assists with material flow through warehouse, including receiving, shipping and storage, assuring accuracy and efficiency at all points
• ​Follows up on any shipping or other warehouse errors; tracks errors and costs and alerts appropriate department
• ​Assists in evaluation and purchasing any new equipment or vehicles needed
• ​Conducts regular meetings with departmental staff to provide feedback on successes or receives information on problems that need a solution
• ​Maintains high safety standards, helps assure that equipment in facility is in good working order and that individual operators (trucks, forklifts, welding equipment, saws or other shop tools) are properly trained
• ​Monitors qualification of warehouse employees, including driver's MVR records, to assure safe operations and maximum operating
• ​Monitors freight costs, assuring that all freight is properly absorbed in inventory and cost of sales transactions, freight factors are accurately updated periodically and that actual freight cost is minimized
• ​May be involved with metal frame cross docking and pre-installation of hardware
• ​May assist with scheduling and delivery of pre-hardwired doors
• ​Other relative duties as assigned​

Minimum Qualifications
• ​​​High School Diploma, or an equivalent combination of education/experience
• ​Current and valid US driver’s license
• ​1 – 2 years of warehouse related experience with direct supervision of staff required
• ​Must pass pre-employment background check and drug test. ​​

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• ​​Experience using Microsoft Office products required
• ​Excellent verbal and written communication and leadership skills required
• ​Experience using Comsense preferred​


Physical Demands
This position requires physical activity consistent with a construction or installation environment. The employee will spend more than two-thirds of their time standing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, using hands to handle or feel, and reaching with hands and arms. Approximately one-third of the time may be spent walking and engaging in verbal communication or listening. Frequent lifting and moving of materials weighing between 25 and 50 pounds is required.

Work Environment
This role may involve travel to project sites and exposure to a variety of environmental conditions. These may include outdoor weather, proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery, and the use of hand tools or hardware. Employees may be subject to frequent heavy lifting and other physical demands typical of a construction or warehouse environment.
