Position Summary:

Primarily responsible for the facilitation and support of the associates’ explicit ability to perform their daily tasks and functions efficiently and safely.  Responsible for the direct ownership, leadership, and supervision of all daily activities of the location; including, but not exclusive to labor planning and scheduling, performance management, safety adherence, housekeeping and cleanliness, proper utilization of space and equipment and the continuous improvement of processes and procedures, new hire recommendations.

Primary Duties:

  • Prep operational area for daily activities; ensure proper allocation of receivers and work assignments.
  • Ensure proper placement of associates to required job functions.
  • Direct and supervise daily, seasonal, and peak staffing requirements and scheduling.
  • Formulate daily plan and expectations with GM.
  • Ensure proper delegation of RF guns, forklift equipment, safety PPE and work material.
  • Supervise and ensure compliance with forklift inspection checklists.
  • Maintain department White Boards with accurate, timely and beneficial information for the associates; conduct daily White Board meeting.
  • Complete Kronos entries daily; ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure daily personal contact with every associate in the department; facilitate and support daily functions.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely preparation, processing, distribution and retention of all pertinent reports and records regarding inbound operations.
  • Facilitate coordination and communication between departments and support functions.
  • Lead, manage and monitor KPI’s and metrics assigned to the outbound operation.
  • Adhere to the Operational Chain of Command.
  • Mentor, coach and teach subordinate Coordinators; formulate developmental plan for their skill and leadership progression.
  • Counsel subordinate Coordinators monthly; set goals and expectations; provide balanced feedback.
  • Maintain and supervise the highest standards of housekeeping, organization, visualization, and cleanliness; supervise associates’ completion of daily housekeeping tasks.
  • Monitor the cleanliness and serviceability of all forklift equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to proper forklift protocol and usage.
  • Provide safety instruction to associates as needed.
  • Develop, implement, and direct programs to ensure the safety of all associates, equipment, and facility property.
  • Report all work-related injuries, near-misses, or accidents immediately. Complete a thorough accident investigation. Communicate findings to GM.
  • Manage and monitor program to keep tools and equipment in designated areas, to schedule preventive maintenance, to store product in aligned, well-contained locations and to keep aisles and passageways clear of debris, trash, and loose product.
  • Maintain strict pestilence control measures.
  • Monitor and identify potential security and pilfering risks.
  • Monitor, identify and report unauthorized personnel in the facility and surrounding property.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Senior Leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to master, cross train in other leadership roles.
  • Must be able to master D365 and WMOS.
  • Must be able to master the proper functions and techniques of every subordinate role in the department.
  • Must be able to train and supervise associates on proper processes, procedures, and techniques.
  • Must be able to understand, support and optimize throughput capacity and capabilities.
  • Must be able to manage the operation through multiple shifts and assigned overtime.
  • Must be able to develop and master report out capabilities.
  • Must be able to provide creative and innovative solutions; to serve as a problem solver.
  • Must be able to improve processes in support of organizational goals and KPI’s; to actively support Process Improvement Projects.
  • Must be able to formulate and implement procedural initiatives to optimize performance; to foster and develop Best Practices.
  • Must be able to lead by example, monitor adherence to rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Must be able to demonstrate genuine interest in the associates and act with empathy and tact.
  • Must be able to provide a robust stream of information to the associates; be a beacon of information and knowledge.
  • Must be able to apply sound communication and motivational techniques to supervise, coach, mentor, and discipline associates.
  • Must be generous with praise and recognition; be an advocate of balanced feedback.
  • Must be able to provide a sense of urgency and strong adherence to operational deadlines.
  • Must be a proponent of teamwork, cooperation, and collaboration.
