Job Summary:

Champions Heinen’s Guidelines, Values and Distribution Diamond Standards to meet our Operational Performance KPIs. Models and displays designated Leadership Competencies and Inspirational Leadership to achieve results. Warehouse Leads are responsible for leading teams while following company processes and methods to fulfill store orders in a safe, efficient, and effective manner. Warehouse Leads are the primary trainers in both safety and job specific preferred work methods and ensure the store orders are processed and staged on time. 


Responsibilities: 

Safety

  • Champions preferred safety work methods. 
  • Ensures all assigned training is completed on time.
  • Identifies and celebrates associates performing work safely. 

 

Associate On-Boarding & Engagement

  • Welcomes new hires and introduce new associate to team members. 
  • Utilizes Associate Rewards program to maintain associate engagement as well as encourage and motivate team members.
  • Excels at utilizing LEAP platform and champions associate utilization of LEAP including coaching concepts and best practices to provide continuous feedback on performance.
  • Ensures satisfactory training and coaching on the proper execution of all preferred work methods. Ensure new hires received all Job Instruction training and can perform task(s) as required. 
  • Provides coaching and feedback to associates when required. Ensure all retraining is completed as required.

 

Manages Daily Work

  • Leads daily start-up meeting. Ensures all scheduled associates arrive on time. Encourages and motivates team members. Reviews daily safety topic and workload with team. Celebrates outstanding performance, communicates company news and announcements.
  • Supervises the daily work in area of responsibility. Uses various systems to monitor associate performance throughout the day and adjust/address as needed. 
  • For shipping activities, ensures all system processing, launching of orders, assignment of ready pallets and other required activities are completed on time and accurately.
  • For receiving activities, ensures all new item set-up, cubi-scanning, slot changes, purchase order receptions and other required activities are completed on-time and accurately. Addresses buyer issues as needed.
  • Performs any function necessary to complete the daily work including selecting, loading, shipping, receiving, safety, sanitation, replenishment, and put-away forklift processes. 

 

Other Responsibilities:

  • Suggests efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures and assists with implementation of changes within warehouse.
  • Complies with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies (i.e., OSHA, FDA, USDA, etc.)
  • Inspects, monitors, and directs sanitation activity to ensure company standards are maintained. 
  • Inspects and monitors condition of facility (with particular attention to rack damage and structural integrity) and submits works orders, as necessary. Monitors resolution of work orders and escalates urgency when necessary. 


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 1-3 years related experience and/or training. Obtain a Powered Industrial Equipment Certification within 3 months.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills that can be used across all levels of the organization.
  • Must possess the ability to build strong working relationships and work in a collaborative manner across all levels of the organization.
  • Must possess the ability to use Microsoft tools including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
