Compensation Range:

$37.00 - $55.50 per hour, depending on experience

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate orientation, clinical training, and ongoing evaluation for new and existing urgent care staff, ensuring timely completion and submission of clinical competencies upon hire and annually

  • Collaborate with supervisors to develop and manage clinical staffing schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during extended hours and peak times

  • Provide clinical oversight and leadership to LPNs and Medical Assistants, ensuring care delivery aligns with professional standards and scope of practice

  • Triage and assess acutely ill patients, promptly identifying critical symptoms to support timely interventions and prevent complications

  • Partner with urgent care providers to stabilize patients in emergency situations and coordinate safe, efficient transport to higher levels of care

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with EMS and emergency responders to ensure accurate patient handoff during medical transport

  • Deliver patient and family education on disease management, treatment plans, and health promotion using available resources and tools

  • Respond to urgent or emergent situations within the facility, providing rapid assessment and stabilization as needed

  • Administer medications safely and accurately using sound pharmacological knowledge and in compliance with UHS policies and procedures

  • Maintain CLIA-waived lab standards; perform and oversee lab testing, quality control procedures, and compliance with regulatory requirements including tri-annual proficiency testing

  • Act as a care coordinator among patients, families, and healthcare providers, ensuring collaborative decision-making and continuity of care

  • Support performance improvement initiatives by monitoring quality data, participating in audits, and assisting in the development of action plans in alignment with Joint Commission and NYS DOH standards

Education/Experience

Minimum Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing.

  • At least 1 year experience in health care setting with evidence of having obtained proficiency in those areas emphasized in the Registered Nurse curriculum.

  • Current NY State RN license.

  • Documentation of current CPR certification required within 1 week of start of employment.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in a walk in / primary care/ specialty care setting.

  • Office specific- IE: Oncology Cert, Lactation Consultant , Wound / Ostomy Cert
