VP of Engineering

Key Responsibilities: 

Strategic Leadership & Management 

  • Develop and execute the engineering vision, strategy, and goals in alignment with company objectives. 
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers and technical professionals that are dispersed across several offices and geographies. 
  • Drive innovation in refrigeration system design, efficiency, and sustainability. 
  • Oversee the development and implementation of best practices for design, testing, and quality control. 
  • Create standardization across several teams and technical platforms. 

Engineering & Technical Oversight 

  • Provide technical expertise in ammonia, CO₂, and other industrial refrigeration systems. 
  • Lead R&D efforts to improve system performance, energy efficiency, and regulatory compliance. 
  • Ensure all engineering designs meet safety, environmental, and industry standards such as ASHRAE, IIAR, and OSHA. 
  • Optimize system layouts, controls, and components to enhance performance and reduce costs. 

Project & Process Management 

  • Manage engineering projects from concept to execution, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery. 
  • Oversee workload distribution across teams to balance expertise, capacity and ensure project deadlines are met. 
  • Collaborate with manufacturing fabrication, sales, and service teams to ensure seamless integration of refrigeration solutions for customer success. 
  • Establish and refine engineering workflows, documentation, and quality assurance processes. 

Compliance & Safety 

  • Ensure adherence to all applicable codes, standards, and environmental regulations. 
  • Promote a culture of safety and sustainability within the engineering department. 
  • Oversee risk assessments and ensure compliance with PSM (Process Safety Management) regulations for ammonia refrigeration systems. 
  • Develop process and procedure documents for field teams. 

Business Development & Client Relations 

  • Support sales and business development teams by providing technical expertise and innovative solutions. 
  • Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored refrigeration solutions. 
  • Stay informed on market trends, emerging technologies, and competitive developments in industrial refrigeration. 
  • Provide value engineering to support customer savings and competitive advantages. 
  • Estimating and pricing support. 

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 
  • 10+ years of experience in industrial refrigeration engineering, including leadership roles.
