Job Description
As the VP, Business Operations you will be responsible for establishing and providing oversight of the business operations function and other operational teams as needed. The VP of Business Operations will report to the President. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual interested in corporate operations to have input into corporate planning and process. The vice president of business operations will act as a strategic partner to the President and other executives in directing, planning, coordinating, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of an organization. In this role, you will perform various duties and responsibilities that include collaborating with the leadership to develop, publish and track company goals and objectives, act as lead for various multi-department projects and initiatives and serve as a central liaison between the business and Verisk centralized services to ensure alignment.
About the Day to Day Responsibilities of the Role
- Provide day-to-day leadership to the Project Management Organization, a small team of administrative support personnel and the training and employee engagement group
- Act as strategic partner to all departments to ensure corporate alignment related to strategic goals and financial targets.
- Work directly with sales, finance, and operations to provide insight into areas of business optimization or risk.
- Partner with human resources and department heads to formulate annual employee engagement plans. Oversee business operations support in Employee Engagement initiatives to ensure deeper employee engagement.
- Ensure effective meeting facilitation (agenda, content, execution) through business operations team.
- Assist with strategic goal management inclusive of monitoring performance (via steering meetings, reporting, dashboards) and highlighting areas of success and improvement. Provide timely data analytics into company performance in adherence to annual goals and operating condition.
- Define and deliver reports and dashboards that demonstrate overall health of company by working with department heads to define meaningful metrics and collaborating with reporting team to develop reports.
- Lead specific critical initiatives and projects as needed related to new product, business optimization or process creation.
- Assess potential vendor partners / contractors and lead procurement process for business.
- Collaborate with Senior Leadership team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the growth objectives of organization.

Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to work across functional and geographic boundaries – at the senior management experience level, and proven experience achieving business optimization in a highly dynamic setting
- Thrive when working on multiple projects or various size and scale
- Exhibit exceptional judgment and ability to prioritize and handle matters independently
- Expertise in recommending, influencing and facilitating organizational, business and process change by applying appropriate change management tools and techniques
- Proven experience with executive reporting, dashboards and communication
- Excellent interpersonal, communications, public speaking, and presentation skills
- Strong time management skills
- Strong management / leadership skills
- Works well in team driven environment
- Excellent technical skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Able to work independently, self-directed, highly motivated
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, professional environment
- Prior leadership experience with both administrative / professional staff required. Specifically, must be a demonstrated ability to lead high performing teams
Working knowledge of Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) Statute preferred
