Job Summary

The Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Vice President will be responsible for leading and managing the company's Advanced Assembly, Manufacturing, and Test Process/Product Technology Roadmaps. This position focuses on innovation, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic leadership to deliver advanced manufacturing solutions aligned with business and customer needs. The role ensures smooth technology deployment into mass production, standardization, and consistent process improvement across the organization.

Reports to the Global VP of Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Develop and maintain annual and 3-year technology roadmaps based on gaps identified from industry trends, customer requirements, and sales/business forecasts.
  • Align technology discovery and development with budgetary constraints and resource requirements, including supplier development and test vehicles.
  • Lead cross-functional teams comprising business unit engineering, design engineering, corporate strategy, and site operations engineering.
  • Deploy innovative manufacturing technologies for business units and value-added services organizations, ensuring standardization for scalability.
  • Interface with customers during pre-quote and sales stages, introducing advanced technologies and managing technology qualification to win new business.
  • Manage multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and specifications.
  • Foster a culture of innovation to address customer needs and industry challenges.
  • Introduce and refine manufacturing technologies by training and qualifying sites connected to business unit needs.
  • Motivate and guide teams, ensuring professional development and technical excellence.
  • Hire and direct senior staff to meet departmental goals.
  • Serve as a key member of the leadership team shaping company strategy and direction.
  • Continuously assess industry trends and ensure the company retains its position as a manufacturing technology leader.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement formal processes that support product development and manufacturability.

The experience we are looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, Engineering or related discipline.
  • MBA is strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years in manufacturing, including at least 7 years in management roles.
  • Proven track record in the CEC or industrial segments, with the ability to improve/turn around key financial results.
  • Data Center/Hyperscalers (CEC): Familiarity with components like ASICs, CPUs, GPUs, optical packages (e.g., Co-Packaged Optics, Pluggable Optics), and PCB/PCBA processes.

    Industrial, Embedded Power & Automotive: Skills in brazing, welding, resistance welding, laser bonding, plasma treating, and similar advanced techniques.

    Health Solutions: Expertise in micro-miniaturization, advanced inspection/testing, and small form-factor devices.

    Lifestyle & Consumer Devices: Experience with bonding techniques, advanced dispensing, cable/wire management, and automation systems.

  • Business Acumen:
    • Deep understanding of P&L management.
    • Ability to utilize data to monitor costs and drive continuous improvement.

Pay Range (Applicable to California)

$257,500.00 USD - $354,000.
