Job DetailsJob Location: Fine Arts - Houston, TX 77019St. John’s School is seeking a full-time Visual Arts teacher. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with upper school students (grades 9-12). Visual Art teachers at St. John’s work together to create a cohesive curriculum. Primary responsibilities:
Teach a variety of Visual Arts courses in Upper School
Serve as an advisor to 8-10 students
Demonstrate proficiency with Studio 2D Art, 3D Art, and/or Digital Media
Proficiency with other artforms including architecture or photography, a plus
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Art/Art Education; Master’s or Master of Fine Arts in Art, Studio Art, or Art Education with graduate hours in the teaching specialty preferred
Minimum of three (3) years of classroom teaching experience
Experience teaching a variety of art forms (painting, sculpture, metals, printmaking, photography, film, digital art, architecture), a plus
Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
