ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
Because Eastern Shipbuilding is continually growing to meet the needs of our customers, the essential duties and responsibilities may be different than described.
Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and
holidays.
• Work independently and within a team on special non-recurring and ongoing projects exercising diplomacy and tact.
• Perform clerical work to include scheduling appointments, tracking visit statuses, controlling and
accounting for all visitors on site and typing routine correspondence.
• Answer telephone and give information to callers, take messages, or transfer calls to appropriate
individuals.
• Make copies of correspondence and other printed material.
• Use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, fax machines, and filing
cabinets.
• Maintain appropriate levels and monitor office supplies, equipment and other materials.
• Conduct research, collect and distribute information/documents.
• May handle Company proprietary data.
• Full understanding of foreign visitor policies.
• Full understanding of all Visitor Control policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of different policies for all company facilities/locations.
• Understand insurance procedures for new vendors.
• Have an understanding of confidential and privileged information when sending emails.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent plus two to three years’ experience of
providing administrative support at a high level required. Requires strong working knowledge of standard office administrative practices and procedures. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Skills: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, Company policies/procedures and governmental regulations. Effective written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and verbal instructions. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment and have attention to detail.
