The proposed work for this project will be aimed at: (1) testing and evaluation of known and novel electrolyte formulations and electrode surface treatments for Mn-rich cathode cell systems; (2) characterization of cell components to elucidate mechanisms of manganese dissolution and cell performance degradation; and (3) design of new electrolyte formulations and electrode surface treatments to improve interfacial stability.
Education and Experience Requirements
• The entirety of the appointment must be conducted within the United States.
• Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins.
• Applicants must be:
o Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited institution.
o Graduated from an accredited institution within the past 3 months; or
o Actively enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution.
Experience with battery assembly and testing.
