The Job:
As a Vice President of Electrical Systems Development, you’ll be part of our Engineering team in Towson, Maryland, specifically supporting the Professional Power Tools design center. In this role, you will lead a team of electrical and electronics system specialists who will design and develop solutions to meet our advancing product line. Specific products covered include battery packs, chargers, connected devices, and power tools in categories such as drilling & fastening, metalworking, woodworking, and concrete. The role will include the following design functions: embedded motor controls, battery packs including BMS designs, battery chargers, and power electronics system solutions. This role will collaborate with other design teams, including battery technology, power conversion (motors), and motor controls teams, along with product development leaders. In addition to technical collaboration, this leader will work closely with the leaders in NPI, product marketing, procurement, supply chain, and manufacturing teams.
- Lead a cross-functional team across multiple product lines, driving electrical and electronics systems design and integration
- Manage all aspects of the design, development, integration, testing and life cycle management
- Provide team leadership and guidance across business and technical topics for advanced system integration
- Provide employee training and development programs to grow talent and increase engagement
- Collaborate with supporting teams for sub-system design, testing and development, supplier selection, manufacturing, and product support.
- Establish a product strategy for advanced systems solutions.

- Masters degree in Engineering – Electrical, Electronics or Systems Engineering
- Technical Leadership - Experience with complex power systems, power conversion, electrical hardware design and development, preferably in the areas of lithium-battery powered consumer or industrial products
- 15+ years of relevant engineering work experience
- 8+ years managing or leading teams
- Experience with high-volume design and manufacturing
- Prior experience with lithium battery power systems integration, connected devices (IoT products), and Design to Value / VAVE implementations
- Experience managing global supply base and contract manufacturing
