Value Based Care Performance Manager, Remote

We are actively recruiting for a Manager of Value Based Care (VBC) Performance. The VBC Performance Manager will play a critical role in driving strategy, operations, and performance in all value-based programs within an assigned group of markets (to include the Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) and Commercial, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid  health plan payer contracts. They will be at the intersection of all key activities: developing and executing on market-specific strategic plans, guiding our field teams’ efforts with health plan payer contracts performance and operations strategy, liaising with payer partners, and contributing to ideation and testing of new processes and tools to support our overall value based care success. The VBC Performance Manager must be able to establish strong, collaborative relationships with health plan payer partners to reach mutually defined quality and cost goals, develop outcomes-oriented partnerships with our Aledade field teams, have a good understanding of levers available to influence the cost of care, working knowledge of MSSP, Commercial, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid programs and insurers’ business models. This role requires demonstrated excellence in creating “buy-in” with internal and external stakeholders to promote and affect change in the way healthcare is delivered.  We are looking for individuals who genuinely believe that Aledade’s model of physician-led ACOs can improve quality and lower cost.
This position will work remotely, with occasional travel to Headquarters (Bethesda, MD) and/or assigned markets. 

Your footprint & specific duties within role:

• Develop and implement strategy and operational plan for all value-based contracts in assigned markets (MSSP, MA, Commercial, and Medicaid) to drive successful outcomes across Aledade’s provider network, including achieving contractual quality thresholds and generating shared savings.
• Provide direct strategic support to Regional Vice President and partner with Aledade Provider Networks leadership to deploy performance initiatives, achieve company targets, and ensure operational excellence in each markets.
• Work hand in hand with market leadership to build strategic market plans, provide bidirectional feedback to Aledade internal teams, and support the strategic deployment of all performance activities within the market.
• Partner with subject matter experts across the Performance Team to identify and implement value-based initiatives within assigned markets (ex: Core 4 initiatives, payer-specific strategy, AledadePlus offerings).
• Translate contract terms and performance data into actionable approaches to achieve contract-, market-, and company-level savings and quality targets.
• Manage analyses conducted by Analyst(s) from various internal and external datasets to pinpoint greatest areas for quality and cost interventions 
• Collaborate across Aledade teams including Clinical Performance, Aledade Plus, and Product to advance Aledade’s strategy at the market level
• Establish a framework to prioritize field execution on market-specific plans 
• Develop performance tracking tools and metrics for monitoring progress for each contract and across the portfolio of contracts 
• Synthesize performance status including key successes and opportunities by contract and communicate to leadership and other stakeholders, including payer partners.
• Perform all other duties and special projects as requested by Aledade’s Provider Network leadership team
• Manage, develop, mentor, and lead Analyst(s)

What we value & position requirements:

• A Master’s degree or other advanced degrees in health services research, health policy, mathematics/statistics, information technology, or other relevant fields is preferred
• Deep understanding of health plan payer insurance landscape and value-based care 
• 5+ years of related experience working in the healthcare industry (i.e., health plan, provider groups, hospital, pharmaceutical manufacturer, government, pharmacy chain, management consulting) with a proven track record of successfully managing projects and performance and interfacing with internal or external stakeholders
• Relevant competencies include developing and maintaining customer relationships, analytical problem solving, project management, effective written and verbal communication, and strategic insight
• Must be results-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously to consistently meet deadlines and stakeholder expectations
• Periodic travel to assigned Aledade markets and team retreats is required
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining focus on key goals
