Who will you be working with?
Operation & Technology (O&T) team is a very diverse team covering all service initiatives relative to WABTEC’s locomotives. The team interacts with both WABTEC’s remanufacturing shops as well as customer account service shops, worldwide. This specific role interacts primarily with WABTEC’s diesel engine remanufacturing site in Grove City, PA collaborating with engineering, Supply Chain operations, Global Sourcing and customer service accounts.
How will you make a difference?
As a member of the O&T Engine Productivity Division, you will be primarily responsible for leading the discovery and definition of projects targeting life cycle cost reduction opportunities for Wabtec engine platforms and related components and processes within the Global Services Organizations (GSO).
In this role, you will engage cross-functional stakeholders and contributors for the facilitation of idea generation sessions, technical feasibility and initial financial viability (ROI) studies in order to grow a deck of actionable projects (“pipeline”) for execution and implementation by the Engine UXV team. You will assist in the development of strategy related to O&T initiatives, budget and resource considerations necessary to execute these pipeline projects. You will maintain awareness of project progress through implementation and help to ensure timeline and budget are respected.
Furthermore, you will develop and maintain relationships within the Manufacturing Operations, Sourcing, Quality and Reliability organizations for the purpose of strategic alignment and project definition in areas such as: external supplier scope, alternate supplier development, insource vs. outsource, reliability solution implementation, etc.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology or related technical field.
Minimum of 5-years of experience in a role focused on the design, quality, validation, manufacturing or field service of diesel engine components or rotating machinery.
Demonstrated ability to lead, execute and prioritize multiple technical projects to schedule and budget simultaneously.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel
Efficient time management and multitasking skills.
Possess strong mechanical aptitude, ability to use basic measuring tools, and capability to perform basic hands-on manual tasks.
Desired Characteristics:
10-years of experience in the design, quality, validation, manufacturing or field service of diesel engine components with a demonstrated understanding of typical value considerations and failure modes.
Demonstrated technical knowledge of engine manufacturing processes and the typical challenges of a production/factory environment.
Proactive problem solver with consistent ability to effectively communicate and influence through cross-functional organizations and upper management.
Ability to work constructively in a fast-paced environment and accommodate shifting priorities.
Strong initiative with the ability to independently evaluate priorities.
Demonstrated leadership qualities including ability to collaborate with and motivate team members.
